Academics, dressed in graduation regalia, will walk from Freedom Park to the Union Building, symbolizing the progress made by South Africa’s democracy in education. The highlight of this event is the collective tossing of graduation hats in the air, aiming to capture the most significant number in one image. This celebratory gesture showcases the level of qualified and competent professionals South Africa has produced, promoting the importance of higher education. It serves as a beacon of encouragement for the youth to aspire to higher levels of education, including pursuing Ph.D. qualifications.
