Health Care Initiatives

The Ronnie Mamoepa Education Healthcare Initiatives combine the power of education and healthcare to make a positive impact on individuals and communities in South Africa. These initiatives, driven by the Ronnie Mamoepa Foundation, aim to promote health awareness, provide support to vulnerable groups, and enhance the quality of life for those in need. Here’s a brief summary of each initiative.

Programme Objective

Kick for Cancer

An annual fundraising event, Kick for Cancer brings together two Premier Soccer League (PSL) teams and two Confederation of African Football (CAF) teams to compete in a soccer match. The event’s primary goal is to raise awareness about cancer and its prevention. Alongside the soccer match, the Foundation conducts on-site cancer screenings for all attendees, promoting early detection and encouraging proactive health measures. By harnessing the popularity of sports, Kick for Cancer effectively spreads the message of cancer awareness throughout the community.

Supported Homes

This initiative focuses on providing support to charity homes, ensuring they have the necessary funds and resources to improve the well-being of their residents. The Foundation equips these homes with arts, entertainment, and toys, fostering creativity and communication among the residents. Additionally, every year, the Foundation donates a projector and screen to a children’s home, offering them the opportunity to enjoy cinema experiences during school holidays. This effort not only brings joy to the children but also promotes drama and constructive debates, encouraging personal growth and expression among the young residents.
